“If AC/DC and The Sex Pistols bred and had four daughters, then Stiletto would be the result.” This was posted by a fan on TheRockSalt.com one day and I’d say it’s pretty right on. They cite influences such as Joan Jett, The Plasmatics, Alleycats, 45 Grave and The Bags.
Stiletto opened for the Girlz Garage Tour in November 2003 with headliners The Start, and released a selftitled 3-song single near the end of last year. Three of the four members picked up new roles for this project: Carri has played bass in several different bands, and currently plays bass in The Wolfs. Julie has sung in many bands, including Lovesucker and Power Tools for Girls and current solo project Silvox. Leena picked up bass and learned it for Stiletto, her first band. Rebecca stuck with the ol’ ball and chain, which she’s been playing since age 12. She used to wield in Phono and currently plays in Violet Run and Spork.
Stiletto has been together a little over a year and show no sign of stopping anytime soon. They attribute this to the fact that they are not only good friends and have great chemistry on stage, but also that they just plain enjoy making music together. –Dick Rivers
